Ghajini

Undoubtedly, Aamir Khan and Asin starrer Ghajini has be the first name on the list as it opened the Rs. 100 crore club in Bollywood. The film, which was lauded for its performance and direction, was the remake of ARM's Tamil blockbuster by the same name, where Suriya played the lead role. Interestingly, it was loosely adapted from Christopher Nolan's Memento.

Thuppakki

Thalapathy Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal and Vidyut Jammwal's crime thriller emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2012. ARM later remade this film in Hindi with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha with the title Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty, which also emerged a hit by collecting over Rs. 112 crore at the box office.

Kaththi

After Thuppakki, AR Mugugadoss reunited with Thalapathy for Kaththi, which again gained commercial success and critical acclaim for its direction, screenplay and performances. Apart from Vijay and Samantha Akkineni, the audience also lauded Neil Nitin Mukesh's act as the lead antagonist in his debut Tamil venture.

Sarkar

Following two blockbusters, the duo of Thalapathy Vijay and AR Murugadoss joined hands for Sarkar, which turned out to be a roaring success at the box office. The political thriller, which also featured Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in key roles, collected around Rs. 250 crore at the global box office

Dheena

Dheena was the directorial debut of AR Murugadoss and featured Ajith in a lead role. This commercial action venture gave the name 'Thala' to its lead star and proves the significance of this blockbuster.
