Mumbai Police takes stern step to curb media frenzy in the reporting of Deepika Padukone, Sara and Shraddha Kapoor alleged drug cases
Yesterday, media personnel had one busy day tracking the movements of Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor as they made their way to the NCB SIT guesthouse and NCB Office respectively. It was a chaotic media frenzy. While Deepika Padukone managed to evade the media as she made her way to the NCB Guesthouse, Sara Ali Khan was followed all through. In fact, one channel tried to push the mic at her car when she was at the traffic signal. Quite a few channels chased the celebs in their vehicles. It has created commotion on the roads.
Now, Mumbai Police has decided to come down on such unruly behaviour of the media. They have said that vehicles will be confiscated if they are found chasing the cars of celebrities. Sangram Singh Nishandar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone -I) told ANI, ""Today we have observed a lot of media vehicles chasing people who were called for the inquiry. The vehicles will be seized because they are endangering their lives as well as lives of whoever was called and common people." Yesterday, hordes of media people were seen outside the residence of all these three actresses.
One of the worst displays of media behaviour happened when Rhea Chakraborty arrived at the NCB a month earlier. The Jalebi actress was almost squashed by the public around her. It is evident that media people are not following any social distancing norms in this coronavirus times. In fact, a physical brawl also broke out between reporters of these electronic news channels outside NCB Guesthouse. In the mean times, phones of Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor have been seized by them.
