Rhea Chakraborty moved to a separate prison cell due to security issues — read deets

Two days ago, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Rhea Chakraborty in the reported drug consumption/ sale/ purchase case. The actress was interrogated by the NCB officials for about three days before the arrest took place. Her brother, Showik Chakraborty has been into custody in the same link. Along with Rhea and Showik, Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant, Zaid Vilatra and Abdul Basit Parihar are in judicial custody as well. After her arrest on Tuesday, Rhea was taken for medical examination after which she was taken to Byculla Women's jail. And now, as per the latest report, the Rhea Chakraborty has been shifted to a separate cell due to security issues.

As per a report in Republic TV, Rhea is stationed in is similar to that of the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea. Meanwhile, Rhea had retracted her confessions stating that she was coerced into making incriminatory claims. "There was not a single lady officer who interrogated the present applicant as mandated by law. The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Sheela Barse VS State Maharashtra, has held that the interrogation of females should be carried out only in the presence of a female police officer/constable," the bail plea application read. Rhea's bail application has been rejected by the sessions court. She moved her plea to the special court whose hearing is scheduled for today.

Rhea is the prime accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. In an FIR filed by the late Chhichhore actor's father, a case has been registered under sections 341 (Wrongful Restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft), 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. Rhea had filed a police complaint against Sushant's sister, Priyank, Dr Tarun Kumar and a few others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bandra Police Station.
