Sandalwood drug scandal: NCB books Vivek Oberoi's brother-in-law, Aditya Alva, in crackdown on the Kannada film industry

NCB is on the drug cartel busting spree these days. Here in Mumbai, a team of NCB sleuths is investigating the drugs angle that is linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. They are interrogating Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik who are said to be buying and selling drugs in the city. Meanwhile, a few sleuths of NCB are also looking into the Sandalwood drug case. Kannada actress Ragini and former television actress Anika D, along with two of her associates M Anoop and R Ravindran were arrested in the peddling of drugs at parties down in the South. As per the latest reports, NCB has charged 12 people including Jeevaraj Alva's son, Aditya in the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Aditya happens to be Vivek Oberoi's brother-in-law.

An FIR has been lodged at Cottonpet Police station and 12 people have been booked as per the information provided by BK Ravi Shankar, a transport department official and the first person to be arrested in the Sandalwood drug case. He allegedly sold drugs at parties that were attended by celebs, businessmen and others. Ragini Dwivedi was named alongside her former friend Shivaprakash. Other names in the FIR include of the party organiser Viren Khanna, businessman Prashanth Ranka, Vaibhav Jain, Aditya Alva, African drug supplier Loum Pepper Samba, Prashanth Raju, Ashwin, Abhiswami, Rahul Tonse and Vinay. They reportedly communicated in code languages. For example, ecstasy pills were referred to as 'Hello Kitty'. Shankar revealed that Samba provided drugs at many parties in hotels and at resorts in Ramanagara, Bidadi, Mysuru and farmhouses near Tumakuru and Davanagere.

Shankar has not been named in the FIR but was arrested in connection with a 2018 drug case. His connection with the recent case is under investigation. "We arrested Ravi Shankar in a drug case pertaining to 2018. But he will continue to remain an accused in this case too; we are investigating. It will be done when we file the chargesheet in the court," an investigating officer told Mumbai Mirror. "There are doubts being raised about exclusion of Ravi Shankar's name from this FIR. He is already in our custody in another case and we will take him into custody in this case too. These are some legal ways of handling issues. We cannot disclose much now," Sandeep Patil, joint commissioner of Police (crime) told the portal.

Loum Pepper Samba's arrest led to the following discovery.
