SP Balasubrahmanyam's son SP Charan backs Thala Ajith after the superstar faces criticism for not attending the last rites, says, 'He is a good friend'

This year has taken away many luminous talents. SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away on September 25, 2020 leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of fans across the globe. While Thalapathy Vijay was seen at the last rites that happened at Thamaraipakkam, a day later, few other top actors from the Tamil industry were present. In fact, Dhanush paid a visit yesterday to the site and offered flowers. Now, people were wondering why Thala Ajith was not seen at the hospital or cremation. They asked this question to the son of the legendary singer, SP Charan. Now, he has replied saying that right now the family is grieving the loss of their father, and have time to focus on who attended and did not.

SP Charan, the son of SP Balasubrahmanyam refuted a number of rumours in a press conference. He also addressed this issue of any discord with Thala Ajith. He said, "Ajith Kumar is a good friend of mine. He had a good relationship with my father too. If he wanted to mourn for my father's demise at his home with his family, let him do that. Now the problem is not if Ajith Kumar had called up or if he had paid a visit. We have lost our father. Fans of my father lost their favourite singer. It is not necessary to talk about what Ajith Kumar did about it. Give us some space as a family to heal from this huge loss." It seems obvious that people want to stir mischief at every opportunity.

SP Balasubrahmanyam contracted coronavirus in August. He was admitted to the MGM Healthcare in Chennai for a month. He recovered from the virus but it damaged his lungs. He was on ECMO for a long time. Finally, he passed away after being critical for a couple of days. It is an immeasurable loss.
