Jacqueline Fernandez to kickstart two new action movies, and neither of them is Kick 2 with Salman Khan

Jacqueline Fernandez is keen to explore greener cinematic pastures and is leaving no stone unturned to land meatier roles and increase her acting cred. Lately, she's even taken a break from Bollywood to complete an acting course Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles, whose alumni reads such prestigious names such as Charlize Theron, James Franco, Brad Pitt, Halle Berry, Gal Gadot, and Gerard Butler. Speaking about her decision, Jacqui recently told Mumbai Mirror that it's important at times for actors to step back and get a hang on what's working for them, specifying that henceforth, when she signs a movie, it'll be because she's excited about it sans any insecurities.

"We actors always want to be in the limelight, but it's nice to take a step back, get a perspective on what's working for you and the trends. Now, when I sign a new film, it won't be because I'm insecure but because I'm excited about the project. I was hesitant because I wasn't confident I'd be able to do justice to the part. But today, having trained myself, I'm open to experimenting with different roles and genres," adding that with all her new skills and confidence, she has no intention to forgo doing commercial Hindi films as she finds them immensely fun and challenging. "As long as you believe in what you do, you can give it your 100%. It's just that I always thought I worked better in the commercial space, so I was hesitant earlier."

Well, it looks like those acting classes and that new-found confidence has certainly paid off because Jacqueline also revealed to Mumbai Mirror that she has signed an action film and no, we're not talking about Salman Khan's Kick 2, which the actress was already announced as a part of long before.

"It (the action movie) will be announced soon along with the actor. Then there's Kick 2 that rolls next year."

The action movie that Jacqui is referring to is expected to begin this January. Beside that, the actress is also planning a female-centric action movie, which she'll also produce.

"We have zeroed in on something interesting and are locking the logistics. It's (the women-oriented action project) something I've wanted to do for a couple of years. We should have things in place by early next year. Sonam (Kapoor) has already set a trend with female collaborations, I hope they happen frequently. I've worked well with Deepika (Padukone) in Race 2, and Nargis (Fakhri) and Lisa (Haydon) inHousefull 3. So, I'm open to such films."
