Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ajay Devgn would work well as cast of Padmaavat, says Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor is currently basking the success of Kabir Singh, which has turned out to be a blockbuster at the ticket windows. The 38-year-old star also garnered appreciation for his character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, where he portrayed the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. The historical drama also featured Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. While we can't imagine actors doing justice to these characters, Shasha was recently asked in a chat show that if given a chance, who would he recast in Padmaavat? Shahid Kapoor replied, "Actually, the cast of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam would work well for that film as well." So, as per Shahid, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would also have been a great cast for this SLB's blockbuster. But, who will play Khilji? Ajay or Salman?

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor will soon start the shooting of the Hindi remake of recent Telugu hit Jersey, which featured Nani and Shraddha Srinath in key roles. It will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original one and will be produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju under their banners Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geetha Arts. It is set to hit the screens on August 28, 2020.

Talking about Jersey, it showcased the emotional journey of an underdog cricketer, who begins his second inning to regain a place in the cricket team. The film also featured Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in key roles. Interestingly, Shahid had portrayed the character of a cricketer in 2009's Dil Bole Hadippa! earlier.
