Terminator Dark Fate: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Producer James Cameron hint at more Terminator sequels

The Terminator franchise is one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood and also one of the memorable characters played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The first part titled The Terminator, which was directed by James Cameron arrived in 1984 and was a hit at the box office. Apart from Arnold's character of a cyborg assassin, the powerful BGM in the film was the highlight of the film. In fact, it was also used in Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Raveena Tandon starrer Mohra. Now, this Friday, the sixth installment of the franchise titled Terminator: Dark Fate will hit the screens and it is more than special and important for the filmmakers and audience as Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger have returned in their roles of Sarah Connor and the T-800 "Terminator" and they are reuniting after 28 years. It has a new timeline and is the direct sequel to Terminator 2.

Talking about the film, James Cameron, who is now the producer of the film said that he set the table for exploration with this film and the process would take place in its next parts. He told cinemablend, "I feel like one of my major motivations on this film or coming back to the, hopefully franchise, was to explore the human relationship with artificial intelligence. I don't feel we did that in Dark Fate. I feel that we set the stage or we set the table for that exploration, and that exploration would take place in a second film and a third film. And we know exactly where we're going to take that idea. What we wanted to get in the first movie was this idea that it's just going to keep happening. The names will change, but the basic conflict is going to continue to take place until it gets resolved one way or the other."

He also spoke about the possibility of the sequels and said, "And so I believe we've set that table and if, like I said, if we get the opportunity, we know where to take the story so that it doesn't become... I think you start simple and then you elaborate, and you can elaborate over a series of films. If they're made by the same people with the same intentions and the same philosophy, then there can be a kind of a story arc across multiple films. But that said, I think Dark Fate stands alone as a pretty good one-time story."

Lead actor Arnold Schwarzenegger explained that the new part is directly connected with Terminator 2 and quoted to screenrant, "What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton's character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters."

Directed by Tim Miller, the film also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna and Diego Boneta in key roles. So, are you planning to watch this film? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
