War CRUSHES Chennai Express and AndhaDhun at the worldwide box office

We just informed you in our last article that War grossed over Rs 448 crore and is all set to enter the Rs 450 crore club at the global box office. By touching this humongous figure, the Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff starrer has surpassed the business of many Bollywood biggies at the ticket windows, which includes films like Chennai Express, AndhaDhun, 3 Idiots, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Dilwale. Though War will struggle to enter the Rs 500 crore club as there many new releases across the country, which will lead to a solid screen crunch. But we can't deny the fact that the collections of the film has certainly brought a huge smile on the face of the makers.

Chennai Express - Rs 422 crore

AndhaDhun - Rs 412 crore

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - Rs 400 crore

In an exclusive interview, when we asked Hrithik about his sons' reaction on teaser and trailer, he said, "My kids loved the teaser and trailer. They gave it a 9.5. My younger one has seen the film. He has given it a 10," says the handsome dad. WAR has created a kind of hysteria amongst the audience. "We never expected it. The love right from the teaser to the trailer is overwhelming. We just set out to make a good film."

The WAR team is currently very happy with the response to the film and we can see that through their comments on social media accounts. Directed by Bang Bang, Salaam Namaste and Anjaana Anjaani helmer Siddharth Anand, WAR is bankrolled by Yash Raj Films and also stars Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana and Anupriya Goenka in key roles. The music is composed by duo Vishal-Shekhar and background score is given by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara. Apart from 2D, the film was also released in 4DX formats in limited cinemas.
