BL Predicts: Panipat and Pati Patni Aur Woh to give each other stiff competition on their opening day

This Friday, we have two offerings from Bollywood in the form of Arjun Kapoor's Panipat and Kartik Aaryan's Pati Patni Aur Woh. Both films have garnered a good pre-release buzz and we are expecting them to open with an encouraging response at the ticket windows.

Talking about director Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat, which features the ensemble cast of Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Mohnish Bahl, Sanjay Dutt, Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman, has created a decent amount of curiosity among the audience. The magnum opus, which is based on the third battle of Panipat between Marathas and Afghanis, is expected to take the opening between Rs 8 to Rs 9 crore on its first day. The maximum contribution to the business is expected to come from multiplexes and metro-cities as the historical is primarily targeted to that kind of audience. Panipat is crucial for Arjun Kapoor and director Ashutosh Gowariker as their last ventures India's Most Wanted and Mohenjo Daro failed to create any magic at the ticket windows.

Now, coming to Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday and Aparshakti Khurana's Pati Patni Aur Woh, the film is riding on the shoulders of Kartik Aaryan, who has given back-to-back hits with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Luka Chuppi. We are predicting the romantic comedy to open in the similar range of Panipat but unlike the latter one, the maximum business of the film will come from tier 2 and tier 3 cities and mass centres. Since the budget of Pati Patni Aur Woh is way less compare to Panipat, it will enter the profit zone by its first week at the ticket windows.
