Rishi Kapoor gears back to work after a year long break
Bollywood superstar Rishi Kapoor recently came back to Mumbai on September 10. The actor was in New York for 11 months and 11 days, where he was undergoing treatment for cancer. Now, as per a report in Mirror, Kapoor is gearing up to report to work with a full-fledged shoot of debutant director Hitesh Bhatia's untitled next. The film goes on the floors on December 5. For the unversed, the actor had kickstarted the shooting for the film in Delhi last year. However soon his diagnosis made him take a break from the shoot as he was rushed to the Sloan Kettering Hospital in the Big Apple to start treatment.
According to the daily's source close to the development, Rishi completed the patchwork of a thriller in a threeday schedule and will now complete the movie in a full-fledged shoot. "Hitesh's film is currently under pre-production. It will be shot from scratch and goes on the floors in Mumbai on Thursday. This will be followed by a month-long schedule in Delhi in January," the source informed the daily. Rishi Kapoor confirmed the news to Mirror.
Earlier in an interview with Mirror the actor had admitted that he is itching to get back to work. "The moment I get back, I will take 15 days off to connect with my roots, get over the jet lag, get into IST (India Standard Time) and hopefully by the end of September I will start shooting," the actor had said.
The untitled film marks the reunion of Rishi Kapoor with Juhi Chawla. The two have earlier shared screen space back in 1990s in several hits like Bol Radha Bol and Saajan Ka Ghar.
Earlier while talking to the daily, Rishi had admitted that he misses home. Back then he said, "It's been a difficult time, very taxing, but Neetu (wife), and my children (Ranbir and Riddhima) have been very supportive. I am grateful to everyone. I am waiting to come back and raring to get going. I will plan my return five-six weeks after my last treatment. It is called consolidation or pushback, whereby I will have to undergo chemotherapy to ensure that the ailment does not return."
