Chhapaak box office collection day 5 early estimates: Deepika Padukone's film continues to remain low

It seems that Chhapaak is facing a huge obstacle at the box office in the form of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The Deepika Padukone starrer clashed with the latter one, and the Ajay Devgn starrer has emerged to be an outright winner at the ticket windows. Despite having a partial holiday, Chhapaak failed to show any kind of growth and has earned around Rs 2.25 crore yesterday. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 23.60 crore. Looking at the current trend, we are expecting the film to collect around Rs 27 crore in its first weekend.

As per many experts, the film failed to perform at the box office due to Deepika Padukone's visit at JNU. In fact, it even might affect her brand deals, a report in Economic Times suggests. Padukone lent her support to the students of JNU ahead of the release of her latest film, Chhapaak. However, her visit might result in brands reducing alliances with Deepika Padukone. As per a report in an Economic Times, Deepika's unexpected appearance rooting for the students would affect her financially. The report, "Some brands have said they are reducing the visibility of ads featuring her in the short term, celebrity managers say future endorsement deals are expected to see clauses factoring in the risks involved with celebrities taking political stands that might anger administrations inclined to be vengeful."

Chhapaak, which marks Deepika's entry into the zone of film production, is indeed special, the actress earlier said."The entire journey was special. I don't think I can speak of a particular moment or scene as the closest to my heart. I think the entire journey and process has been extremely rewarding. It's the film I am most proud of, among all that I have done in my career. I am not thinking much about people's reactions after its release because that is a different aspect, but this film is something I am proud of, and I am proud that the entire team had faith in Meghna's (Gulzar) vision," she explained.
