Ek Villain 2: John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur are going to play villain vs villain, reveals Director Mohit Suri

A couple of days ago, we had informed you that John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur would be collaborating for the second installment of Ek Villain. The actor would be seen at loggerheads as John will turn antagonist. Like the first one, Ek Villain 2 will also be helmed by Mohit Suri. The filmmaker who is gearing up for his upcoming romantic-thriller, Malang, explained that the next project demanded a fresh cast as it is not a "direct sequel" to the previous movie.

"Ekta and I were looking to create a whole franchise on villains. Shraddha (his leading lady for Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain), Sidharth and Riteish (his male protagonists and antagonists of Ek Villain) have been a part of my biggest films and I love them, but this is a different story, with new characters that refer to the older ones," Suri told Mumbai Mirror, in an interview.

Mohit Suri further went on to reveal that to say that unlike last time which saw a fight between the good and the bad, this time it would be bad versus worse. "It's essentially villain versus villain. Both Adi and John are playing negative characters," Suri explained. He added that Aditya Roy Kapur's glimpses in Malang were what triggered him to cast him in Ek Villain 2.

"We are going to push the bar further with Villain 2," he guarantees. "I was an assistant on John's first film and we have been trying to work with each other for a while. This script proved to be a great platform for the two of us to come together and I am excited about it. We start rolling in June." The actor further told the leading news portal.

Further when he was asked whether he would recreate any song from yesteryears? "I haven't decided yet, but if I want to, I would recreate 'Galliyan'" The filmmaker added.
