Ekta Kapoor on being conferred with Padma Shri Award: It's never 'too soon' to live out your dreams

Yesterday the names of Padma Shri Awards were announced which included TV czarina Ekta Kapoor. The TV and film producer has been announced to be conferred with the fourth highest civilian honour - Padma Shri Award. This is surely one of the biggest accomplishments of Kapoor. The scion penned down a note filled with gratitude on her Instagram account, talking about her journey to be given the biggest title. Ekta Kapoor in the note stated that she was only 17 years old when she started her journey and she surely has come a long way.

Here's what the letter reads: "Overwhelmed & Emotional! My foray into the industry started when I was just 17. I constantly heard I was 'too young', 'too raw' and it was 'too soon' to make things happen. Through the years I've realised it's never 'too soon' to live out your dreams and being 'too young' is probably the best thing. Today, as I'm conferred with the 4th highest civilian honor- 'Padmashri', I'm humbled."

Interestingly the news has arrived just two days before her son celebrates his birthday. She further added, "I hope to continue breaking boundaries, to continue giving young talent a chance and to strive to give back to the country for all the love that's come my way. The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as this news arrives 2 days before my son's first birthday. Grateful & Thankful!"

Kapoor became a parent through surrogacy. She will celebrate her son's first birthday on January 28. Daughter of veteran actor Jeetendra, Ekta Kapoor, has been producing content for all the mediums panning from the small screen, big screen to the digital screen.

Among actress Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar the others to receive the Padma awards are, Sarita Joshi, Adnan Sami.
