Bhoot The Haunted Ship box office day 1 early estimates: Vicky Kaushal's horror flick has a slow start

Vicky Kaushal explored the horror genre with Bhoot: The Haunted Ship, however, his attempt at this genre hasn't worked out well. The film, which clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, is off to an extremely slow start. People had high expectations from the Vicky Kaushal starrer but it hasn't performed exceptionally well at the BO. According to the early estimates, Bhoot: The Haunted Ship has merely earned Rs. 5.25 crore at the ticket windows. Despite a good storyline and great background music, we wonder how Bhoot: The Haunted Ship received an underwhelming response from masses.

Our critic gave 3 stars to Bhoot: The Haunted Ship and in her review, she wrote, "Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship starts off on a genuinely scary note. The first half is devoted to the build-up and some of it is quite chilling. Vicky Kaushal does a good job of playing Prithvi, a young man suffering from depression and hallucinations. The production design of the film is first-rate. The ship looks imposing and terrifying at the same time. Pushkar Singh has done a fab job with the cinematography. The mood of the film is eerie and creepy all through. Debajit Changmai does a superb job with the sound department. It makes you sit up and how."

Talking about his film at the trailer launch, Vicky Kaushal had revealed that he wasn't prepared for Bhoot: The Haunted Ship as an actor. "This was something I was not prepared for as an actor. While doing comedy, drama or emotional scenes, you can leave it to the moment between co-actors. You can rehearse, and while acting, you leave it to the moment. You surrender to the moment and create something. But horror is a genre where I had to know everything in advance. The scene was explained to me in advance, and I know what's going to happen next and have to react to it," he had said.
