Love Aaj Kal box office day 5 early estimates: Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan's film collapses at the ticket windows

Bollywood News: As compared to Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone's Love Aaj Kal (2009), Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan's new-age, Love Aaj Kal, failed to impress the masses. Everybody had high expectations from Imtiaz Ali and his vision, but he failed to deliver a masterpiece. Love Aaj Kal has terribly performed at the box office. In just 5 days of its release, the film merely earned Rs. 31.26 crore. Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, had shared the official box office figures of Love Aaj Kal and tweeted,"#LoveAajKal collapses on Day 4... The drastic fall in numbers doesn't come as a surprise since the trending was evident during its *opening weekend* itself... Fri 12.40 cr, Sat 8.01 cr, Sun 8.10 cr, Mon 2.75 cr. Total: 31.26 cr. #India biz."

If early estimates are to be believed, Love Aaj Kal managed to collect only Rs. 2.50 crore. This means that the film is headed for a complete washout at the box office. Our critic gave 1.5 stars to Love Aaj Kal and in his review, he wrote, "After concealing his lack of expertise in the first half, his shortcomings both as a narrator (read Director) and love guru (read writer) come unravelled post interval, with the trajectory of the movie going haywire and his vaguely defined characters becoming progressively worse to follow despite his actor's best efforts. Kartik Aaryan's role as Veer is the most jumbled of the lot, with neither the idiosyncrasies of his character being established nor the motivations of his actions having any explanation."

Talking about the comparisons between her film and her father's Love Aaj Kal, Sara had earlier said, "I respect every opinion that comes my way. But I hope people don't compare it with the 2009 film. We are in the movies and ready to take risks. I am not here to please the whole world. So, I go with what feels right to me."
