Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior global box office collection: Ajay Devgn's film inches closer to Rs. 350 crore

Bollywood News: Ajay Devgn's 100th film, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, has worked wonders at the box office and how! The film, which starred Sharad Kelkar, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in key roles, has shattered the box office records of many films. And Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is on its way to create another history in the global arena. The film is slowly and steadily marching towards Rs. 350 crore mark at the global box office. It has so far collected over Rs. 347 crore. This film becomes Ajay Devgn's highest-grossing movie worldwide. It beats the global box office record of Golmaal Again, which was Rs. 311 crore.

For the uninformed, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, who was the chief military leader of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Our critic gave 4 stars to the film and in her review, she wrote, "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior does full justice to the emotion that Tanaji Malusare invoked in us when we read about him. Ajay Devgn brings forth the loyalty, zeal, courage and passion in his performance. Saif Ali Khan plays to the gallery as the ruthless and somewhat sadistic Uday Bhan Rathore. Kajol illuminates the screen with her presence while Sharad Kelkar is majestic as Shivaji Maharaj. Om Raut and Prakash Kapadia have written some rousing dialogues for the film. Another star of the film is cinematographer Keiko Nakahara. The battle happens at night and it is shown beautifully on screen. Sandeep Shirodkar does a great job with the BGM. The film is over two hours but moves at a relentless pace.

Owing to the massive success of the film, the producer of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has now planned to turn into a franchise. "The unsung warrior franchise has now found feet. These are real stories that need to reach far and wide. My production house is committed to this franchise, though as an actor, I may not be in every film. Regardless of my presence in the films, we won't compromise on the scale and technology. We will have bigger budgets," he said.
