WTF Wednesday: Social media trolls Parineeti Chopra for posing in a mask and we wonder why
Parineeti Chopra is the latest actress to face the backlash from trolls. It happened after she posted pictures of her from the airport wearing a mask. As we know, the outbreak of coronavirus has worried travellers who are taking extra precaution. Parineeti Chopra posted her pictures on Instagram. She can be seen wearing loose jeans, white shirt and a fanny pack from Louis Vuitton. When she first posed for the pictures, social media termed her as silly saying that she should be spreading awareness instead. Well, Parineeti did tell people to stay safe. We really do not understand what the objection was all about. Many celebs and travellers are wearing masks and like they say, prevention is better than cure.
One person wrote, "This mask is of no use when it comes to nCoV, you should use Surgical Mask as that prevents from possible infections. The one you are wearing, unfortunately, can't stop from getting infected." Okay, we can forgive this one as it is a relevant piece of information. However, others were not as intelligent. Some passed comments just for the heck of it. Some of the trolls were unnecessarily nasty. One wrote, "God forbid if some of your acquaintance dies, you'll do a photoshoot with sad face in white saree and upload on twitter with caption Sad, but I guess this is the situation now. Stay safe guys."
Another person wrote, "What a sick mindset. If you don't have the virus then there is no need to wear the mask. There is already shortage of masks in China because ppl like you stocking it up for no reason at all." Yes, while do agree that some of our stars go unnecessarily overboard at the airport but this time Parineeti Chopra's idea was a well-intentioned one.
