Pavitra Bhagya actress Aneri Vajani on playing a mother at 26: This is the first time I am playing a mature character

Aneri Vajani who was last seen in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka is playing a mother in her new show Pavitra Bhagya. The actress opened up about her character in the Tv show by Ekta Kapoor while interacting with Mid-Day. "I am drawn to powerful characters," she began when asked about what made her pick this project. Aneri is playing the lead Pranati Mishra in the show opposite SilSila Badalte Rishton Ka and Ishqbaaaz actor Kunal Jaisingh.

"There was no reason to say no to this project. It is an Ekta Kapoor show, their previous shows Kumkum Bhagya and Kundali Bhagya have always been on the top of the charts. So, Pavitra Bhagya is a novel combination of so many factors," Aneri Vajani told Mid-Day while revealing that she has checked another important from her bucket list.

As per the report, Aneri opened up saying that her character is not like a typical mother. Though playing a mother at the age of 26 is not easy, Aneri has taken the challenge headlong and wishes to do justice to it. "I play a 25-year-old mother, who had got pregnant at 18. She is a practical woman who loves children but is [not] your typical daily soap-ish mother. This is the first time in my career of seven years that I am playing a mature character," Aneri opened up.

On asking about Kunal Jaisingh, Aneri revealed, "As artistes, Kunal and I like surprising each other in a scene. So, we avoid doing too many rehearsals."

Coming back to the show, Pavitra Bhagya is an extension of Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya, two TRP chart-topper shows by Ekta Kapoor. Pavitra Bhagya follows the story of Pranati Mishra and Reyansh Khurana who meet in college, fall in love. At the age of 18, Pranati gets pregnant and is heartbroken when she learns that Reyansh has deserted her. Pranati's parents give her daughter, Jugnu to an orphanage while lying that she had a miscarriage.
