Kulmeet Makkar, CEO of Film and TV Producers Guild passes away due to heart attack

These two days have been absolutely horrifying for the film fraternity. Firstly on Wednesday, Angrezi Medium actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last and on Thursday morning, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away. These two days have been devastating for many as the entertainment industry lost two gems of actors in the span of 24 hours. And now we have mew death to report. The CRO of Film & TV producers Guild, Kulmeet Makkar has passed away.

The reports state that he had had a heart attack that cost him his life. Kulmeet had been in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh where he has been stationed since the lockdown was announced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kulmeet Makkar had extensively worked in the entertainment industry for about three decades. He is known to have worked with Saregama, at Reliance Entertainment as Founder of Big Music & Home Entertainment. Prior to his role of CEO at Film & TV Producers Guild he was also a president and CEO at Shreya entertainment.

Taran Adarsh mourned his loss by taking to his twitter handle. " RIP #KulmeetMakkar... CEO of Producers Guild of India." He wrote.

Karan Johar took to his Twitter handle and condoled his demise. "Kulmeet....you were such an incredible pillar to all of us at the Producers Guild of India....relentlessly working for the industry and towards its enhancement and advancement ...you left us too soon...we will miss you and always remember you fondly ...Rest in piece my friend .." He wrote on his Twitter handle.

It is being said that Makkar was working on setting up a trust to which he had pledged $1 Million. With this initiative, he wished to help the daily wage earners who were affected by the COVID-19 lockdown in the film and television industry. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
