Legendary composer Jatin Pandit on remixes: If someone new adds 2 or 3 colours to a Picasso painting, its value will drop [Exclusive]

The release of Masakali 2.0 has opened a can of works in the Hindi film industry and laid bare the deplorable state our music is in. For some time now, remixes were being slandered for tarnishing the memories of the originals and laying bare the apparent lack of creativity in the Bollywood music films or singles. However, Masakali 2.0 has burst open a simmering volcano, with the makers of the original (for the first time), Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Prasoon Joshi, joining the outcry from music lovers among the common public.

Recently, BollywoodLife got together for a very warm, personal and heartfelt Insta live chat with legendary Bollywood music composer Jatin Pandit of Jatin Lalit fame and his son Raahul jatin, who's a supremely talented, upcoming singer. While Jatinji relived his glory years with brother Lalit, the iconic names and films they composed evergreen tunes for and justifiably expressed utter disappointment at the uninspiring state of film music being plagued by remixes today, his son Raahul regaled us with his own songs, how he's forging his own path and the songs of his papa that are close to his heart, while both father and son even bonded for some unbelievable jugalbani.
