Neha Sharma opens up on being an outsider in Bollywood: 'We really do not get so many opportunities to do amazing roles' [Exclusive]

Recently, BollywoodLife conducted a wonderful and absorbing Insta Live chat with the extremely gorgeous and immensely talented Neha Sharma, where she graciously answered all our queries about her new web series, Illegal, and her journey so far in Bollywood to OTT platforms giving talented actors a better chance regardless which camp they belong to and how she's made the best of the roles that have been offered to her as an outsider in the industry.

Speaking about her role in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, not having landed a role like that before and making the best out of the opportunities that have hitherto been offered to her, Neha Sharma said, "See, I'm not from the business (film business families), I'm an outsider and that's never going to change. So, we really don't get so many opportunities to do such amazing roles. Vicky Sadanha, the casting director of this film (Tanhaji), had approached me for the role. Obviously, the main cast is always locked and these people (casting directors) are on board to tell the producer and Director that they think this or that person is good for the other roles. Thankfully, Vicky was casting for this one, and they wanted a certain type or girl for the role of Kamla Devi. So. I met Om (Raut), the Director of the film, and he felt like I'd fit it, so that happened. So, I feel like you can only choose from the roles offered to you. Otherwise, you can make your own movies or act in the content that you create. Apart from that, you can only pick from what comes to you. So, from whatever that has come to me, I think, I've picked the best ones and I hope that with more work that I do, more good roles are offered to me and I get to do more good work."

Neha Sharma will next be seen in the web series Illegal, following which she has a comedy film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the pipeline.
