Preksha Mehta suicide: The actress's father REVEALS she was restless during lockdown, says, 'We had no idea she will take such a drastic step'

2020 has been an unfortunate year. We have been through a lot of issues this year and it does not seem to stop. We lost many people this year and the coronavirus outbreak has been a major concern. Another depressing news that hit the television industry was Crime Petrol actress Preksha Mehta's suicide. Preksha Mehta who has also worked in the Akshay Kumar film Pad Man hanged herself by a ceiling fan at her home in Bajrang Nagar, Indore. The actress's suicide note revealed that she had been finding it difficult to stay positive during these trying times of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, her friend, Aatm Prakash Mishra opened up on her career saying that she was managing really well in a city like Mumbai and refuses to believe that she could have committed suicide due to work. Now, Preksha Mehta's parents have opened up on their daughter's suicide decision.

In an interview with ABP News, Preksha Mehta's father revealed that the actress used to remain restless as all shoots had halted due to the lockdown. He said, "Preksha used to remain restless as all shoots had halted due to lockdown. She was upset over the further extension of the lockdown in Mumbai. She never liked sitting idle. Whenever she used to read about the lockdown in the newspaper, I used to tell her that she shouldn't be worried as it's for everyone. We had no idea she will take such a drastic step." Her father was also asked if they every pressurised her for getting married. He shared,"Preksha had already told us that she will get married in 2-3 years only after earning a name in the film and TV industry. We never pressurized her for marriage but sometimes we used to ask her to get married in a light-hearted manner."

 

Preksha Mehta's father also opened up on her suicide note and said that even her family is unable to understand why she had written all that.
