RIP Rishi Kapoor: Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani looking forward to release the late actor's last film

It was shocking for everyone when the news of one of the most charming Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor's demise broke out. Bollywood and India lost a gem of an actor and a heartthrob suddenly and people were not able to wrap their minds around this piece of news. Rishi Kapoor had battling cancer for the last one and a half years with Neetu Kapoor by his side. Most of the Bollywood celebrities were in touch with the veteran actor and dropped by in New York City where he was getting his treatment for the deadly disease. When he had returned to India, after a little rest, he had immediately reported to sets to shoot for the films that had been put on hold owing to his treatment.

Rishi Kapoor had been shooting for Sharmaji Namkeen prior to the lockdown. The actor had been looking forward to completing the same. Now, the makers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are looking forward to releasing the film in the theatres as soon as the lockdown ends. A source close to the production house said, "Rishi Kapoor was the main protagonist of the film and a major portion of it was already shot with only a few days of shooting remaining for the actor. Since this is Rishi Kapoor's last project that was near completion, Ritesh and Farhan are determined to make sure that the film gets released."

"The microscopic details of how Ritesh and Farhan intend to bring the film to completion are in the works, but rest assured that the film will get completed and see a theatrical release," the source further added.

Sharmaji Namkeen stars Juhi Chawla opposite Rishi. The actress deeply mourned the loss of her dear friend and co-star. Rishi Kapoor was also to star in the Bollywood remake of The Intern alongside Deepika Padukone.
