She couldn't attend her father's last rites in person but had taken special permission from the police to come to Mumbai and be with her family. Rishi Kapoor's daughter is in Mumbai finally. Riddhima had been sharing stories of her father and had been updating on her journey to Mumbai. She had let her mother, Neetu Kapoor know that she was en route to Mumbai through a video on her Instagram story. Riddhima was very close to her father and the doting daughter is terribly heartbroken. She had been putting some heartbreaking stories on her social handle asking her late father to come back.

Talking about Rishi Kapoor's funeral, it was attended by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Adar and Armaan Jain, Reema Jain, Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan to name a few. His son, Ranbir performed the last rights while Riddhima attended the same virtually. On his ailment, Rishi Kapoor had been battling cancer for the last one and a half years. His son, Ranbir Kapoor insisted that he took the treatment for the same in New York. Rishi Kapoor had returned to India in September last year. Since then he had been hospitalised twice once when he was in Delhi and once in Mumbai for a viral fever.
