Anupam Kher wishes wife Kirron on her birthday with this gorgeous throwback picture

Kirron Kher turns a year older today. Whether it is theatre, films or TV, the lady has had us hooked with her enigmatic presence. She is celebrating her birthday alone in Chandigarh. As we know, she is an elected MLA and has her duties. Husband Anupam Kher wished her with this gorgeous throwback picture. In the click, we can see her in a chiffon saree with a string of pearls and sunglasses. She is looking stunning and every bit a style diva. In the caption, Anupam Kher wrote, "Happy birthday my dearest #Kirron!! May God give you all the happiness in the world. May you have a long and healthy life. Sorry you are on your own in #Chandigarh and both @sikandarkher and I are not with you. But we miss you. Will meet you soon. Love and prayers always."

The couple were part of the Chandigarh Theatre Group and were the best of buddies. But there was no romantic alliance between them. She said in an interview, "We both were in theatre in Chandigarh, and we were the best of friends. There was nothing he did not know about me, and I knew everything about him, up to the extent of knowing which girl he was planning to patao. It was fun and we worked together well too. But there was no attraction of any kind beyond friendship." Both of them came to Mumbai. She got married to businessman Gautam Berry in 1980 but the relationship was not working. Anupam Kher was also hitched in 1979 through an arranged marriage set-up but was not happy in the alliance.

They came from different backgrounds. She was a Punjabi while he is a Kashmiri Pandit. She was from a family of zamindars while his dad was a clerk in the Forest Department. Kirron Kher also said that she was an outspoken wife who would him what is wrong on his face after a period of time. She said, "It did. But I learnt a lot. I call a spade a spade, I am very straight, don't mince words. He does not like criticism, so when I told him what he had done wrong, he could not take it. He likes to be liked and loved, he takes criticism as being not loving."
