Chiranjeevi Sarja's wife Meghana Raj breaks down uncontrollably as she hugs him for the last time; video leaves fans in tears

The year 2020 has brought one bad news after another. Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja died due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday. He was just 39. The burial happened at the family's farmhouse at Kanakapura near Bengaluru. Top stars of the Kannada film industry like Kiccha Sudeep, Yash, Puneeth Rajkumar and others came to pay final respects to the actor. The cops had allowed around 150 people for the funeral. The death has come as a shock for the industry. A video is doing the rounds where we can see his Meghana Raj sobbing uncontrollably as she hugs her husband's body for the last time. A couple of women try to pacify the distraught lady. The couple got married in 2018 in a Hindu - Christian ceremony. She was in her second trimester.

It seems Chiranjeevi Sarja collapsed while talking to his father on the phone on Sunday. He was sweating profusely. They took him to the Sagar Apollo Hospital where they tried to revive him but did not succeed. The hospital later gave a statement that read: During this time, intravenous medications, inotropes and advanced airway was used, pulse was achieved three times (ROSC), later continued to be asystolic. He was declared dead at 3.48 pm. They said it was cardiac arrest.

Actors Sumalatha, Shivaraj Kumar, Darshan, Srimurali, Abhishek Ambareesh, Munirathna, K Manju, Sa Ra Manju, Srujan, Ganesh went to the hospital to stand in solidarity with the family. A huge number of fans had also gathered outside his residence. It seems his body was wrapped in the tri-colour. They had earlier thought about burying the body near that of his grandfather, Shakti Prasad in Tumkur but later decided against it. The family feels his burial in the farmhouse will give a feeling that he is still with them. His elder brother, Dhruva Sarja was seen consoling Meghana Raj all through the funeral.
