Arjun Reddy star has attained a pan-India appeal due to his good looks and angry young man image through his films. The handsome hunk was last seen in World Famous Lover, which released during the Valentine's Day weekend. In the film, Arjun romanced not one or two four actresses, which were, Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh, Catherine Tresa and Izabelle Leite. While the opened to mixed-reviews and turned out to be a disaster at the box office, we just came to know that lead actor Vijay Deverakonda was not the first choice for the film. Yes, before VD, director Kranthi Madhav narrated the script to Sharwanand and Sai Dharam Tej and both of them rejected the roles. We can say that they took the right decision after looking at the performance of the film.

In a conversation with Rajeev Masand, Vijay Deverakonda earlier opened up on World Famous Lover turning out to be a dull affair and said that the film was very good on paper but it didn't work out during the execution. "The film was amazing on paper. But we fuc*ed it up as far as the execution is concerned. I was excited when I had heard the story," said the Geetha Govindam star.

Talking about Dear Comrade, Vijay Deverakonda added, "The story completely flips in the second half and people were not prepared for it." The actor will resume the shooting of his first Pan-India film, Fighter after the lockdown. According to Mumbai Mirror, Vijay Deverakonda underwent hardcore training and followed a strict diet to prepare for his character. The Arjun Reddy star also visited Thailand to learn mixed martial arts and various other fight forms. In the film, Deverakonda will be seen flaunting six-pack abs. Apart from Vijay, Fighter will also feature Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy and Baahubali star Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. Talking about the film, Ronit informed a leading daily, "It is a pan-India action film that will feature a lot of mixed martial arts and will be shot extensively in the next six months.
