#KeralaElephant: Rashami Desai, Hina Khan, Madhurima Tuli express their sadness on the killing of a pregnant elephant with explosives

The dastardly killing of an expectant elephant in Kerala has sparked outrage on social media. In a terrible incident, the elephant died with her unborn calf when she ate a pineapple filled with crackers. The elephant belonged to the Silent Valley National Park. This incident has left wildlife lovers and almost everyone anguished and angry on social media. Celebrities have slammed the offenders and demanded strict action. Fruits laden with explosives are kept for wild boars that destroy crops. Mohan Krishnan, a forest officer wrote on Facebook, "When we saw her she was standing in the river, with her head dipped in the water. She had a sixth sense that she was going to die. She took the Jalasamadhi in the river in a standing position." She died in the Velliyar River. They wanted to bring her out but she knew her time was up.

Dr David Abraham, a Forest Veterinary Officer said, "I have so far done more than 250 postmortems of elephants alone in my more than two decades career. But this was the first time I was so moved as I could hold the foetus of the baby in my hands. Initially, none of us was aware that the elephant was pregnant. After I had seen its heart and then happened to see the amniotic fluid did I realize that it's pregnant." Rashami Desai, Madhurima Tuli, Hina Khan and others have slammed the incident.

The act has again reinforced how some humans think that this planet only belongs to them. Shraddha Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia also condemned the incident in a strong manner. We hope the offender is nabbed ASAP and the voiceless creature gets justice!
