Marathi actress Mayuri Deshmukh's husband Ashutosh Bhakre dies by suicide at 32

Marathi actor Ashutosh Bhakre, who was married to Mayuri Deshmukh of serial Khulta Kali Khulena fame, passed away in his hometown, Nanded yesterday late night by hanging himself at his residence. He acted in films like Bhakar and Ichar Tharla Pakka. Police Inspector Anant Narute of Shivaji Nagar police station, told ETimes, "The news came to us around 1.30 pm. We have registered an accidental death report (ADR) as per standard procedure. We have recorded a statement from Aashutosh's father, and he hasn't blamed anyone for what happened. We haven't spoken to any other family members as they are still coming to terms with the loss." While the reason behind taking this extreme step is unknown, as per the reports, it is said that the actor was suffering from depression for sometime.

Popular Marathi actor Shashank Ketkar, who worked with Mayuri in 31 Diwas, expressed his grief and told the portal, "I had met Aashutosh a couple of times and was quite fond of him. It is hard to believe that a person like him could take such an extreme step. I don't know what triggered him to do this. May God give Mayuri and the family strength to bear this loss." Reena Agarwal, who also played a key role in 31 Diwas, said, "When we were promoting the film, Mayuri and I would go to her house to get ready sometimes. I had met Aashutosh then. He was very soft-spoken and a happy-go-lucky kind of a person. After hearing this news, I was numb. I tried contacting Mayuri but couldn't get through to her. My condolences to the family. I am truly shocked at what has happened."

Veteran actor Sanjay Mone, who portrays Mayuri's grandfather in a Marathi play 'Dear Ajjo' got emotional and said, "She (Mayuri) was like my daughter. I'm shocked."
