It is always painful to see a young life go too soon. The death of Sushant Singh Rajput has filled fans with bouts of anguish ever since it happened on June 14. The young actor had recently delivered a Rs. 150 crore+ blockbuster with Chhichhore and his work in Sonchiriya was also appreciated by critics. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his residence on June 14, 2020, and the news left people shell-shocked. It was reported that he was suffering from clinical depression and consuming medication for the same. However, it seems that Sushant Singh Rajput had stopped taking his medicines for a while. The horrible Sunday

June 14

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14. The body was found by his sister and the servant. He had apparently locked the room and it had to be opened by a locksmith.

Kangana Ranaut's statement

June 15/19

Kangana Ranaut came to the forefront and said that this depression narrative was propaganda by some people who corner outsiders. She said late Sushant Singh Rajput made a mistake seeking acknowledgement from such people. She said this on June 15. Later, she again took to Instagram on June 19. There, she pointed out at the blind articles allegedly written on Sushant Singh Rajput in the past couple of years. Her statements left social media furious on the treatment meted out to Sushant.

Mukesh Chhabra is questioned by the police

June 17

Mukesh Chhabra who is the director of Dil Bechara was called by the cops. He said they had a chat last on his birthday, which was on May 27. He said that Sushant told him that he was unwell.

Mumbai Police grills Rhea Chakraborty

June 18

On June 18, the Mumbai cops interrogated Rhea Chakraborty for nine hours at the Bandra Police Station. It seems she admitted that they had a fight and she left his house. It seems she showed them pictures and chats.

Shekhar Suman joins the fight

June 22

After Kangana Ranaut, it was Shekhar Suman who joined the fight for justice for Sushant Singh Rajput demanding a CBI probe. He requested Amit Shah and PM to initiate a probe. He also visited his residence in Patna and made an appeal with Tejashwi Yadav. He had first taken it as a case of suicide but later changed his narrative asking for justice.

One of the first persons to be questioned was Rohini Iyer. She is one of his close friends and was his publicist at one point of time.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali gives his statement

July 7

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave his statement on July 7. The conversation was regarding Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. It seems he wanted to cast Sushant Singh Rajput in these films but Yash Raj Films did not allow it.

Cabinet Minister, Subramanian Swamy writes a letter to Narendra Modi asking for a CBI Probe into the matter. His letter is acknowledged on July 26. Fans hail the Cabinet Minister for the move.

July 10

His Dil Bechara actress who was embroiled in the #MeToo controversy was called for questioning. She flew in from Delhi with her lawyer in tow. Sanjana was questioned for seven hours.

Aditya Chopra is brought in by the cops

July 18

The head honcho of Yash Raj Films gave his statement to the Mumbai cops. This happened on July 18 in Versova. He was asked to explain why Sushant terminated his contract with YRF and also corroborate SLB's statements.

Noted film critic Rajeev Masand is interrogated

On July 21, the Bandra cops called Rajeev Masand for a long session of interrogation. They asked him about all the blind items in his Open magazine. On the same day, an online digital protest was held for Sushant Singh Rajput, which got a staggering response of 10 lakh tweets. Ankita Lokhande also lit a candle praying for his justice.

Kangana Ranaut lashes out at the "nepo gang"

Post that, Kangana Ranaut began a tirade against the likes of Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. She spoke about how Sushant Singh Rajput was dropped from three movies and Ranveer Singh got to do those films. She picked up the reference of Paani. Kangana Ranaut hits out at Taapsee Pannu for some past comment. In a video, she calls them B-Grade actresses and says they do chaploosi for the mafia in Bollywood. The ladies are infuriated and post old videos of her contradictory reports on nepotism.

Dil Bechara releases

July 24

In the middle of all this fury, Sushant Singh Rajput's swan song Dil Bechara released. The film has got 95 million views and an opening of Rs 2000 crores. Sadly, he is not here to see the success.

Viscera report negative

July 27

The viscera report of the actor came out on July 27. It was negative and ruled out foul play. The stomach wash report is awaited as well as nail samples. The same day Mahesh Bhatt said he met Sushant Singh Rajput twice in his life. He said that at a party in February, he found the actor confused and told Rhea Chakraborty to take good care of him.

KK Singh lodges FIR

Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh lodged a FIR in Patna. It has 16 charges on Rhea Chakraborty ranging from wrongful confinement to criminal breach of trust, forgery and some charges under the Indian Mental Health Act. This FIR has sent ripples in the case. The lady has appointed Satish Maneshinde as her defence lawyer and she has asked that the case be transferred to the Mumbai Police.
