RIP Saroj Khan: From Tezaab's Ek Do Teen to Devdas' Dola Re Dola, a look at her 11 best songs

The year 2020 is turning out to be the darkest in Bollywood history. We have lost talents like Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in months. Now, it is legendary choreographer Saroj Khan who has left us for her heavenly abode. The lady who worked under B Sohanlal for a long time created waves with her choreography in the 80s and 90s. Saroj Khan won the National Award for Dola Re Dola. Her song Yeh Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met is also known for its choreography. Some of the celebrated filmmakers she has worked with are Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas) Subhash Ghai, Indra Kumar, Pankaj Parashar and of course, N Chandra.

Her favourite was Madhuri Dixit. Both of them had a love for Kathak. She came out of her retirement to choreograph Tabaah Ho Gaye from Kalank for her. Here is a look at her best songs.

Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar from Sailaab (1990) is hailed as one of Madhuri Dixit's most sensuous numbers.

Saroj Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography for the song Kisi Ke Haath Na Ayegi Yeh Ladki from Chaalbaaz (1989).

Devdas' Dola Re Dola is perhaps her biggest hit after the 2000's. She trained Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to perfection in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's masterpiece. The song Dola Re Dola got her the National Award in 2002.

The iconic Ek Do Teen from Tezaab is cherished by all fans of Madhuri. The film Tezaab (1988) was also a blockbuster.

Main Teri Dushman from Nagina (1986) is still a reference point for all snake dance all over.

Choli Ke Peeche had the whole nation swaying to it. Every 90's kid must have performed to the number from Khal Nayak (1993). It is another cult collaboration of Madhuri and Saroj Khan.

Sridevi and Saroj Khan delivered pure gold on screen with Hawa Hawai from Mr India (1987).

Dhak Dhak Karne Laga is known for the sensuous chemistry between Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor in Beta (1992).

Kaante Nahi Katte from Mr India is another one of her memorable numbers. Who can forget the chemistry of Sridevi and Anil Kapoor.

The song from Jab We Met (2007) is another classic from her. Kareena Kapoor Khan showed off her moves in the snowcapped beauty of Himachal.

She did not collaborate much with Mani Ratnam. However, her choreography for Barso Re Megha (Guru) in year 2007 was a hit.

Saroj Khan has given us immense memories and a legacy of dance moves to cherish forever. May her soul rest in peace.
