Sanjivani 2’s Gaurav Chopra reveals his parents were diagnosed with COVID-19; takes a social media break as they recover

On Wednesday, television actor Gaurav Chopra revealed that his parents had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. His father was in a critical condition and was hospitalized. He was in urgent need of plasma and had taken to his social media handle and requested people to help if they could. He shared the contact of his younger brother, Raghav Chopra on his social media handle and asked people who could help to connect with him. "Urgently required AB+ blood group plasma of a corona recovered patient in Delhi. This is very urgent. This is for my family." (sic), he had posted on his Instagram handle at wee hours on Wednesday. Karanvir Bohra had shared the picture and requested his fans to see whether they could help him.

Gaurav Chopra received help from Delhi Government's helpdesk regarding the same. He had replied to the saying, "Hi! We have started the process. Stipulated to get the plasma from the bank early morning Wednesday 12th ; But need a donor for the replenishment of the plasma. To the bank that is. If there can be any help with that kindly let us know." Have a look at his tweet here:

Later, he thanked everyone who helped him in his tough time. "To everyone who has gone out of their way to help me at an odd hour , and continue to do so , a BIG BIG THANK YOU ! We re getting the plasma and hopefully this shall help in getting my father to be better. I shall always be indebted..." he wrote on his Twitter handle.

Yesterday, he shared a picture of his mother and father on his social media and revealed that he could be taking a break to be by their side as they recover. "This picture is from some years ago : my mom and dad with my nephew. #mom and #dad #parents The ones who bring you into this world. The ones who teach you , raise you , make you who you are. You are a part of them. A reflection. Carrying forward their thoughts and values. Your identity itself is given and nurtured by them. Right now both are fighting in different hospitals. And we are fighting the war with them. For them. . If they're not worth fighting your best for , what is ?! And yes we are. We will. Till they are fine.
