Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi to start shooting for Shakun Batra's next from THIS date

In December 2019, Karan Johar announced his next production venture with Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday with Kapoor And Sons helmer Shakun Batra taking director's seat. The untitled relationship drama was supposed to go on floors early this year but due to pandemic crisis, the filming got delayed. And now, the makers are set to start the shooing of the film from mid-September in Goa. As per the Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the film said, "The delay gave Shakun time to work on the script. Since shooting in Sri Lanka is not feasible, they changed the setting to Goa which has a similar landscape of beaches and vintage churches. An overseas shoot would depend on several factors, like travel protocols, shooting permissions and the number of coronavirus cases in that country. It's easier to shoot in India."

"The entire team will be in Goa for over a month and will shoot at real locations. While Shakun flies off in a day or two for prep, the cast will join him around September 15," added the source. Reportedly, there will be another schedule in Mumbai with a workshop for crew so that SOPs can be followed on the sets. "There is a possibility of a brief overseas spell too. A call will be taken once the schedule in Goa wraps up," shared the source.

Talking about the project, Karan earlier said, "Shakun has directed one of the most acclaimed films of Dharma Productions Kapoor & Sons. With this movie, he also turns producer with us. His upcoming directorial is an intriguing relationship drama, which will release on Valentine's Day 2021. I am proud and excited about Shakun's vision as a versatile filmmaker." Shakun added, "I have had a wonderful journey with Karan and his production house for almost a decade now, and I can't wait to get back into the director's chair for my next. It's a relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone."
