Toofan: Farhan Akhtar's trainer, Darrell Foster, reveals what surprised him about the birthday boy while working on the film [EXCLUSIVE]

The first look of Farhan Akhtar from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofan was released recently and people couldn't get enough off his athlete body. All efforts that Farhan had put in to get the look right, paid off with validation from his fans and industry insiders. Going by the first look of Toofan, one can easily understand that Farhan has put his heart and soul to play a boxer. His athlete body looks absolutely perfect and we must also credit the person who trained Farhan to ace his look and get him ready to fight it out in the ring. And that person is Darrell Foster. He's the one who mentored and coached Farhan Akhtar for Toofan. Darrell has been a fitness expert and fight coach for about 20 years. In his two-decade-long journey, he has trained Hollywood celebrities like Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Virginia Madsen and many others.

With Toofan, he finally carves a niche for himself by training Farhan Akhtar in Bollywood. Days before the first look was unveiled, BollywoodLife exclusively interacted with his mentor. And he told us, "I have been training him since April, so it's been 8 months of me working with him. Farhan has experienced and gone through various physicalities in order to be authentic. Through my research and when I met him in person, I got to know that he is a world-class actor, filmmaker, and producer. So I wasn't surprised that he could transfer that work ethic, professionalism and dedication to this project."

Revealing the thing that actually surprised him about Farhan, he said, "What did surprise me was his humbleness and his willingness to do what it takes in order for us to not sacrifice anything for this film." Darrell also shared how Farhan and Rakeysh Omprakash's great working relationship is one of the many luxuries of Toofan.

Further, in our conversation, we asked him about Bollywood actors he would want to work in future, to which, he added, "There are legends over here. There's Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. I have seen a lot of Bollywood films where stories are larger than life and are based on legends combined with hero action."

"I do not get impressed with the stardom because I have worked with four different Oscar winners and Will Smith. I like to work with actors who are good storytellers and who are good at telling personal journeys about ordinary people doing extraordinary things," Darrell said before signing off.
