Bigg Boss 13 rerun gets pulled off from the channel - here's why

Due to the coronavirus lockdown, we saw the channel bringing back their old iconic shows so that people could enjoy them at home and get nostalgic. The makers of Bigg Boss also tried to cash on this quarantine phase as they re-telecasted the latest season, Bigg Boss 13, which was one of the most successful seasons in the history. However, the rerun of this show failed to garner any viewership and got replaced by Dance Deewane. The rerun, which was started on March 23 got abruptly pulled off on April 13.

A source closed to the development told TOI, " Bigg Boss 13 enjoyed massive viewership a few months ago and hence was brought back, but things haven't been the same this time around. Viewers' preferences keep changing and given the current situation, the channel would like to understand what audiences want to really watch. They aired Bigg Boss as an experiment and the coming weeks will see many old shows returning including Balika Vadhu."

The 13th season saw Sidharth Shukla, Paras Chhabra, Asim Riaz, Himanshi Khurana, Mahira Sharma, Rashami Desai, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Shehnaaz Gill, Shefali Bagga and others with Arhaan Khan, Madhurima Tuli and others coming as the wildcard entrants. Sidharth Shukla won the show and we saw many fans celebrating his win, a particular section called that he was a fixed winner. Reacting on that, he said, "I have no idea where that came from! He was fair to me and to all the other contestants. Every time he came to interact with us on the weekend episode, he would tell me everything that happened. He would tell me how the fights looked to the outside world. I'd give him my point of view, like everyone else. I really wonder why anyone would think that he was biased towards me. Because he wasn't! Why would he be partial to me? I don't know the gentleman at all. And why would he favour me? I'm just a two-bit actor."
