Coronavirus pandemic: Varun Dhawan commits to provide free meals to frontline workers, doctors and medical staff

Varun Dhawan is one generous person. After donating Rs. 30 lakh to the PM-Cares Fund and Rs. 25 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund, the actor has pledged to support the frontline workers, doctors and medical staff by providing them free meals. The actor shared this news with his fans by sharing a long note on his Instagram with a caption that read: "This is a long battle and we have to fight it together. Finding solutions is the only way forward. @ratantata #tatatrust." In his long note, Varun mentioned that: "With each passing day of being lockdown at home, my heart goes out to all those who have no home in this time of crisis. And so this week, I've committed to provide meals for the poor who are without homes or jobs."

Apart from providing meals to the poor, Varun Dhawan has also promised to provide the same to the medical staff. "I also have deep admiration for those who are risking their lives by working on the frontlines. I've committed to provide meals to doctors and medical staff at hospitals."

Varun clearly mentioned that the meals will be provided through the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust. According to the Student Of The Year actor, it is a small step, but at this time of crisis, every step counts. Before ending his note, the actor promised to do whatever he can.

Earlier, the actor had made big donations to PM-Cares Fund and Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund. Sharing this news with his fans on Twitter, Varun had tweeted, "I pledge to contribute 25 lakhs to the Maharashtra CM's relief fund @OfficeofUT @AUThackeray @CMOMaharashtra. We are with you, sir. I pledge to contribute 30 lakhs to the PM CARE fund. We will over come this. Desh hai toh hum hain."

Meanwhile, on the work front, we will see him in Coolie No. 1 with Sara Ali Khan.
