#7yearsofYJHD: Thank you Bunny, Naina, Avi, Aditi and Ayan for THESE invaluable lessons

"Yaadein mithai ki dabbe ki tarahhoti hain, ek Khula, to sirf ek tukda nahi kha paoge," this emotion is riding high right now. This time in 2013, Ayan Mukerji released his second film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. It was one of the most anticipated films of the year and went on to become one of the highest grossers of 2013. It had opened with a high occupancy report back then. The hype was understandable as people also thronged to cinema halls to watch ex-lovers, Ranbir and Deepika once again.

As Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani celebrates its 7the anniversary, here's a tribute and a token of gratitude from us to Bunny aka Kabir Thapar (Ranbir Kapoor), Chashmish aka Naina Talwar (Deepika Padukone), Aditi Mehra (Kalki Koechlin), Avi aka Avinash Arora (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Ayan Mukerji (director). Thank you for the invaluable lessons you taught us with this film.

Bunny/ Kabir Thapar

Bunny taught us to not be afraid of chasing your dreams. His character growth from running behind his dreams with full of vigour and enthusiasm, to see what's store in future resonated with us. Towards the end, we saw what happens when we chase dreams without keeping in touch with reality. Thank you, Bunny, for letting us know that one should chase dreams and keep in touch with reality.

Chashmish/ Naina Talwar

Naina taught us to have a little fun in life while trying to make a career. She also taught us that one should not stop living while making a career. But most importantly, she taught us that being a nerd is NOT boring at all. Naina in the start of the movie has a drastic change midway through the film. However, she just becomes a better version of herself.

Aditi Mehra

Aditi taught us that life changes people for good. Aditi was a reckless, not inclined to studies kind of student who had no clue about her future. Her hippie look would repel every parent. However, Aditi's transformation speaks volumes as how people change and no matter how far you go, looking back, you'll have tons of memories that will spread a smile on your face. Aditi's optimism towards the end says life will turn out to be beautiful with time. (You've got to have that confidence like Aditi while she wants to fight off the goons in Manali)

Avi aka Avinash Arora

Avi taught us that you may take a wrong turn, make many mistakes before realizing it and it's no big deal. He taught us that it's okay to start over at whatever stage in life. That having a plan in place by the age of 25 or later 20s is not a golden rule to live by. Avi also taught us having bad habits doesn't make a person bad.

Ayan Mukerji

That the number of films doesn't define a filmmaker.

Bonus:

Taran - Kunaal Roy Kapur

Geeks are fun as you and I. (You just need vodka, just kidding)

Evelyn Sharma - Lara

There's a different fun in being an adorable (blonde, entertainment level 1000) chic.

Special thanks to Mr Thapar (Farooq Sheikh, darling dad), Mrs Thapar (Tanvi Azmi, being the best stepmom), Naina's mother (Dolly Ahluwalia, strict yet lovingly na ve (read: stupid) parents).
