The actress turned producer with Chhapaak. She also played the titular role of Malti, the acid attack victim who seeks justice against the odds. The film was based on Laxmi Agarwal's life. Meghna Gulzar made a beautiful film and Deepika Padukone won over the critics with her performance. She brought forth emotions like helplessness, despair, grit, heartbreak and anger with immense passion and finesse.

Alaya F- Jawaani Jaaneman

Doing a film with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu is a dream come true for any newcomer. It also comes with huge scrutiny. Alaya F delivered like a pro in her debut film. People loved her chemistry with Saif Ali Khan who played her dad. The young lady was playing a pregnant teenage girl in this film that explores modern relationships and its quirks.

Kangana Ranaut - Panga

Kangana Ranaut never fails to deliver. In Panga, she played the former captain of the national Kabaddi team who gives up her career after becoming a mother. She decides to make a comeback encouraged by her family. Kangana Ranaut's performance did not have a single false note and she looked like a real Kabaddi player. Her Jaya Nigam is one more memorable character.

Taapsee Pannu - Thappad

A nuanced performer, Taapsee Pannu was first-rate in Anubhav Sinha's Thappad. It is described as her most potent film till date. In the film, she plays Amrita, a docile housewife whose conception of self-awareness changes after she gets a slap from her husband.

Radhika Madan - Angrezi Medium

The young actress has proved herself with films like Pataakha and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Known to TV audiences as Ishani from Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Radhika Madan is sparkling on celluloid with her talent and sheer hard work. She was perfect as Irrfan's daughter in Angrezi Medium.

Disha Patani Malang

Disha Patani made the screen burn with her scorching hot avatar in Malang. The actress showed off her chiseled body in the twisted thriller. Disha Patani's exuberance was in stark contrast to the darker mood of the other characters.
