Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan passes at 71 due to cardiac arrest; Akshay Kumar, Genelia Deshmukh and others offer condolences

Legendary choreographer, Saroj Khan who is known for designing the steps of iconic songs like Ek Do Teen, Dola Re Dola, Barso Re and many more, has passed away at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest. The three-time national award winner was admitted on June 20 to Guru Nanak hospital on June 20 after complaining of difficulty in breathing. The last rites of the choreographer will be held at Malvani in Malad, Mumbai today.

Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace ??

RIP #SarojKhan What a legend! Iconic songs.. literally all the hit Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi songs! I'm sure we've all tried those steps in front of the tv. I got to work with her just once..for a show years back.. and I remember being petrified! I froze watching her teach.

I will do & make what we spoke about one day, my promise to you," he wrote. "#SarojKhan #Masterji every song we did together whether Chui Mui Si Tum,Saanson ko saanson mein,Chand Sifarish,we argued,discussed. I'll miss her presence. Her voice on the mike. Her Adaa. I would tell the actors Male & Female,do 50% of how she does a shot & you'll be a star," he added.
