Akshay Kumar adds Mudassar Aziz's whacky-comedy to his list of upcoming projects; in talks for about 10 films

Akshay Kumar was one of the busiest stars in the entertainment industry and he continues to be the busiest actors in the new normal era, that is, in the on-going pandemic as well. The actor's horror-comedy film, Laxmii released yesterday on the OTT platform and he has a couple more projects in the pipeline for the release. He recently wrapped up the period drama co-starring Manushi Chhillar, Prithviraj. He also has a cross-cultural love story Atrangi Re with Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush.

His next collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala, Bachchan Pandey, is all set to go on floors in January next year. The film also stars Kriti Sanon in the lead. After wrapping that up till March, Akshay is looking forward to Aanand L Rai's Raksha Bandhan post which he has an action-comedy with Ekta Kapoor in the pipeline. Phew! already so many. And now, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Akshay has given his nod to Mudassar Aziz's whacky comedy that will roll from July next year.

Mudassar would be collaborating with Akshay Kumar for the first time. A source close to the development of the same told Mirror, "Akshay has come on board for Mudassar Aziz's next, a whacky comedy. He said "yes" as soon as he heard the subject. He is trying to consciously strike a balance between real-life subjects, action thrillers, love stories with a difference, and laughter riots."

"He has almost 10 films in his kitty and there's talk of a show towards the end of 2021 too," the source added saying that he is in talks for an investigative thriller and a social comedy film as well. Meanwhile, he recently wrapped up Bell Bottom that also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in key roles. And not to forget, Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi.
